Chickpea Curry (dahl)

 Ingredients

  • 250gchickpeas
  • 4shallots
  • 3cloves of garlic
  • 2case of chopped fresh ginger
  • 2glasses of tomato coulis
  • 1Turmeric
  • 2Cumin
  • 2Organic Black Pepper from Madagascar
  • 2Green chili peppers
  • 1teaspoon of garam masala
  • 3case of chopped cilantro
  • 75g of butter

Preparation tips



Mix the turmeric, cumin, garam masala*, pepper, chili peppers, crushed fresh ginger, 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh coriander. Add a little water from the chickweights (cooking water if you have cooked them, or water from the jar of pre-cooked chickweights)

Brown the shallot, then add the spice mixture and the tomato coulis. Cook for 5 minutes. If necessary, add a little chickpea water.

Then add the chickpeas, simmer for 20-30 minutes. Monitor the consistency by adding or not adding water to the chickpeas.

Add the butter and the rest of chopped coriander at the end of cooking.

Serve immediately with chopped coriander and lemon slices for decoration. Sprinkle a little with lemon juice
